Strawberry Matcha Latte

Blend a quick strawberry puree, add milk and ice, then pour over a whisked matcha concentrate (or reverse-layer for the classic look).

Strawberry matcha looks fancy but is mostly layered sweetness plus a solid matcha concentrate. Fresh or frozen strawberries both work.

Strawberry matcha latte with pink and green layers

Ratio: Strawberry puree + 1½–2 tsp matcha + milk to fill

Ingredients

  • ½ cup StrawberriesFresh or thawed frozen
  • 1–2 tsp SweetenerSugar, honey, or syrup
  • 1½–2 tsp Matcha powder
  • 2 oz Hot water
  • 8–10 oz Milk
  • as needed Ice

Equipment

  • Blender or muddler
  • Whisk or frother
  • Tall glass

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Make strawberry base

Mash or blend strawberries with sweetener until saucy. Spoon into the bottom of a glass.

  2. Step 2

    Add milk and ice

Add ice and pour milk over the strawberry layer, leaving room for matcha.

  3. Step 3

    Add matcha

Whisk matcha with hot water until smooth. Gently pour on top for a layered look, then swirl before drinking.

Common mistakes

  • Watery strawberries with no sweetener—flavor disappears under ice.
  • Weak matcha that cannot stand up to fruit sweetness.

Variations

  • Use strawberry syrup if you are short on fruit.
  • Coconut milk for a creamier dessert vibe.

FAQ

Can I use strawberry syrup only?

Yes. It will taste more like a café special and less like fresh fruit—still delicious.
